Creating a Font List in Clip Studio Paint
Managing fonts in Clip Studio Paint can be a daunting task, especially when working with multiple projects and font styles. One way to make font management easier and more organized is to create a font list. A font list allows you to categorize and access your favorite fonts quickly, making it an essential tool for any digital artist or writer.
Accessing the Font List Feature
To access the font list feature in Clip Studio Paint, follow these steps:
- Go to the Text Tool window
- In the Tool Properties, select the drop-down list of all available fonts
- At the bottom of the list, click the "All Fonts" button
This will open up a window displaying all font lists currently created, including any existing ones.
Creating a Custom Font List
To create a custom font list, follow these steps:
- In the font menu, click on the gear icon to access the font list management area
- This area displays two lists: All Fonts, a list of all available fonts on your system, and Font Lists, a list of custom font lists you've created
- To create a new font list, click on the "Create New Font List" button at the bottom left corner
- Give your new font list a name (e.g. "Erielle")
- Choose the fonts you want to add to your new list by selecting them from the All Fonts list
In this example, the user wants to create a list of all "Aerial" fonts, so they select those specific fonts to add to their "Erielle" list.
Tips for Selecting Fonts
When selecting multiple fonts, it's not possible to simply select the first one and Shift-click on the last one to select all of them. Instead, each font must be individually selected by tapping on it, which can be tedious. To make this process easier, it's recommended to use the "Show Font Names in Font Style" button, which displays font names in the style of the font itself. This feature makes it easier to see what you're doing, especially when scrolling through a long list of fonts.
Managing Fonts in CSP
Once you've created your custom font list, you can easily access and choose from a selection of fonts. To do this:
- Create a list of fonts by checking off the fonts you want to include
- Once the list is created, click OK to save it
- The new list will appear at the bottom of the font menu, labeled as "Arial font list" in this example
- This list allows you to easily access and choose from a selection of fonts, including Arial, Bold, Italic, Hebrew, Scholar, and other fonts that were checked off during the list creation process.
