Clip Studio Paint Window Overview
The Clip Studio window is the management window of the Clip Studio Paint program, where users can manage their account, cloud storage, and access various features and services.
Login and Account Management
To access the Clip Studio window, users need to log in to their Clip Studio account. If they don't have an account, they can click the "Register account" button to create a new one. Once logged in, the profile button will appear, showing the user's cloud storage, which can be edited by clicking the "Cloud" button.
Cloud Storage and Gold
The cloud storage is used to store and organize works and materials. Users can purchase "Gold" using real money via Paypal, VISA, etc., which is used to pay for materials that are not free. The "Gold" button displays the user's current gold balance.
Communication Management
The "Communication Management" box shows the user's upload and download history, which can be accessed by clicking the corresponding button.
Sidebar Overview
The sidebar has two tabs: "Access" and "Manage". The "Access" tab allows users to access Clip Studio Paint and Clip Studio Modeler, while the "Manage" tab shows the user's own data, including their works.
Manage Work
The "Manage work" tab shows all of the user's works, divided into two sub-tabs: "This device" and "Cloud". "This device" shows works located on the user's desktop, while "Cloud" shows works stored in the cloud.
Favorite Tab
Clicking on the heart of each file makes it appear on the Favorite tab, allowing quick access to important files, especially when you have more than 100 files.
Manage Material Tab
This tab shows all materials created and downloaded from Clip Studio Assets.
Clip Studio Official Services Tab
This tab provides access to various official services, including tutorials, Clip Studio Assets, CS Ask, CS Tips, and CS Share.
Tutorials
Basic and hot tutorials are available to help users improve their skills.
Clip Studio Assets
This feature provides quick access to a vast library of textures, brushes, 3D backgrounds, and more from the Clip Studio team and other artists. Users can use the search bar to find specific resources, and most resources are free, but some require Gold membership.
CS Ask
This is a Q&A section where users can ask questions or answer others.
CS Tips
This is a collection of useful tutorials, showcases, and step-by-step guides from other artists, featuring tutorials from "Tips of the Month" with a new theme each month.
CS Share
This is a platform to showcase your work, where users can export and publish their final work based on their settings.
News/Highlights
This section displays official updates from the Clip Studio team and website, and shows the user's recent work in the top section.
Cloud Service Features
The cloud service allows the transfer of works and materials between devices, enables syncing of work and materials, and syncs application settings (CSP and Modeler) including shortcuts, preferences, workspace, and auto actions. However, it's important to note that only materials created by the user can be synced, and materials downloaded from Clip Studio Assets cannot be synced.
Syncing Settings
To sync application settings, users need to save their settings before synchronization.
Synchronization Process
To synchronize, users need to click OK to start synchronizing or Cancel to do it later. After synchronization, they can go to the Manage tab to check their works.
Downloading Works from Cloud
To download works from the cloud, users need to check the work and click the "Download as New" button, and then click the Blue Cloud button to download. If the cloud button is orange, it means the file is already downloaded or exists on the device.
Cloud Storage Management
Downloading and Deleting Files
To download files, users need to select the "Select all" box and choose "Download as New". To delete files, they need to select the files they want to delete and click the "Recycle bin" button.
Manual Synchronization
To sync their works manually, users need to click the "Synchronize" button for each file on the "Manage Work" tab, and then click "OK" to confirm the synchronization.
Troubleshooting Synchronization Issues
If a user's work does not appear in the "Cloud" tab, they can open the "Communication Management" box to check the progress. If it still does not appear, they can resynchronize it.
Automatic Synchronization
Automatic synchronization only applies to files created by the user, and files downloaded from Clip Studio Assets will not be synchronized.
Downloading Materials
To download all materials to a new desktop, users need to follow these steps: open the "Cloud" tab of "Manage Material", click the wheel button on the right side, check the line "Display Material used in app settings", click "OK", check "Select All" and click "Download as New", and finally click "OK" to download all materials to their computer.
