Importing ABR Files into Open Clip Studio Paint
To get started with importing ABR files into Open Clip Studio Paint, make sure you're running the latest version, which is version 1.10.5 as of the Winter update. With the latest version, you can easily import ABR files into your digital art program.
To import an ABR file, navigate to the Brush Settings in Open Clip Studio Paint. From there, click on the hamburger menu (also known as the sandwich menu) and select Import Sub Tool from the dropdown menu. This will open a file explorer window, where you can navigate to the location of your ABR file and select it. Once you've selected the file, click Open to import it into Open Clip Studio Paint.
Note that it's not possible to multi-select files for import, so you'll need to import them one at a time.
Organizing Brushes in a Digital Art Program
Once you've imported your ABR files, you can start organizing your brushes to make them easier to find and use in the future. To test out a brush, simply select it and start using it. To organize a brush, follow these steps:
- Click and drag the brush into the desired sub-tool group.
- Rename the sub-tool group using the settings of the sub-tool group option, which can be accessed by right-clicking on the tab.
This method allows for easy organization of brushes, making it simpler to find and use the desired brush in the future.
Customizing Brushes in a Tab Group
In Open Clip Studio Paint, you can customize all of your brushes from the tab group location. Here, you'll find a range of customization options, including:
- Tab group itself
- Subtool group
- Individual brush settings
It's important to note that if you customize the tab group, changes will affect the subtool group settings. On the other hand, if you customize an individual brush, changes will only affect the subtool settings for that brush.
Additional customization options include renaming brushes and changing icons for brushes.
Selection and Control of Brushes
One limitation to be aware of in Open Clip Studio Paint is that it's not possible to mass select or use Ctrl+Shift select on more than one brush at a time. If you know of a workaround or solution to this limitation, please share it in the comments!
